Late fall portraits in Oregon can be a bit tricky when you want a beautiful outdoor portrait. Even a relatively decent day can present challenges that make it hard to achieve a high quality image. Here I shot the Barnhart family on a marginal day where it had been raining, and threatening clouds still loomed low on the mountainside. With some scouting beforehand, a little patience, and a bit of extra lighting we were able to come up with a very nice result.
I just launched the new Deepwood Studio website to showcase my wedding and portrait portfolios. Fall is a fantastic time of the year for family portraits, so I decided to lead off with some shots I took of the Book family at Willamette University. What a super cute kid! and a great looking family. I love the great colors and textures that add so much depth to Fall portraits. With gift giving season right around the corner you might consider family portraits this year for mom and dad or that special someone in your life.
